We can never predict the future, yet we stil throw that word around. "I promise you that" and "I promise you this".. How sure are they when it comes out from their mouth that by tomorrow, their hearts are still unwavering and they won't go astray from a path that they promised to others?
We are mere humans, and we tend to make mistakes and there are things that are out of our control. I, myself, tend to not delivering my promises on occasion, and I realized too many people have been disappointed by me. How about you? How strong is your promises, and how good it is as assurance, to soothe others minds.
The unpredictability of promise makes it lose its meaning. There are no need for us to pronounce that word again. Enough with a simple sentence of "I will do my best".
